This study has been carried out under the requirements of the Class Environmental Assessment for Provincial Transportation Facilities (2000) for Group ‘B’ projects. Three Public Information Centres (PICs) were held during this study. The first PIC was held on Tuesday December 5, 2017, the second PIC was held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 and the third PIC was held online from November 15 to December 2, 2022. The PICs provided agencies, residents, members of the public and interest groups an opportunity to review, comment on and discuss the project with members of the project team. In addition, individual consultation will be held as necessary with relevant external agencies, municipal representatives, local community groups and business representatives.
The study has culminated in the preparation of a Transportation Environmental Study Report (TESR) and is available for a 30 day public review and comment period. Notification of the submission of the TESR has been published in local newspapers and posted on this website. Should a member of the public feel that there are outstanding issues that have not been adequately addressed during the EA process, an opportunity exists for the public to object to the project through a Section 16 Order request to the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.
